True Life

I've talked to a lot of people that seem to know exactly what God is calling them to do. They know what they are doing and they always talk about how great life is going. . .

But what about the people that aren't so sure. . .

I see a lot of people that aren't really sure about what God's calling is, a lot of people that seem so unsure, so bored with life.

We are called to follow God and His calling on our lives, but what are we supposed to do while we wait for God's calling; or what if you aren't sure what God wants you to do, then what?

In John 10:10, Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (NASB). Jesus came to give us abundant life, but what does that mean?

We try to base life off of so many different factors. We want to be certain about our futures or about God's calling and we want to do something that makes us feel good. We like to be in control of our lives.

If Jesus came to give us abundant life, then why is it so hard to figure out what we are supposed to do and how come everything we do doesn't make us feel good. Life isn't always easy and doesn't always feel good, so there must be something wrong with God, maybe He isn't listening, or maybe this is just how life is supposed to be.

The problem isn't God; the problem is us. We want to know everything and we want to do something that makes us happy all the time. When life isn't going our way, we get frustrated with God and eventually we become numb to His call and bored with life. The problem is that our view of life is wrong; so how can we expect to know what abundant life is.

In John 14, Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me." (NASB).

This is life; Jesus, God is life. Our relationship with God and devotion to God is how we can experience that true, genuine life that Jesus came to give.

Abundant life isn't about feelings or being in control; it's not about waiting on God. Abundant life is about God, it's about a relationship with Him, a desire to know Him.

Abundant life; life beyond measure, beyond what is necessary, is about losing control, it's about looking past your fear of uncertainty and letting God fill that void of emptiness and boredom in your life.

Our prayer is that you would see that as you try to control your life; you are actually robbing yourself of the true life that God has for you; and that as you wait on God, He is actually waiting on you to come and follow Him right now.

Our prayer is that you would see that as you give God control, you will truly come alive and experience the abundant life that He has waiting for you.
